State Farm, and just did my first claim (roof hail damage)


We've had State Farm for 18 years, for home and car and even a side coverage on jewelry. Only had one small claim, for a minor car accident (not our fault). We now have hail damage and need a new roof. State Farm adjustor came out two weeks ago, walked the roof with the probable roofer and said yep, you need a new roof (it's 19 years old). They approved a decent amount that covers the roof, and painting half the house AND (weirdly) refinishing the deck and replacing two window screens (the deck and the screens had hail damage?). Received the first check within 10 days. Second one is coming at completion of work. No issues so far.
